Cambodian Laughingthrush Tour - Aural Mountains

4 days

Search for the elusive Cambodian Laughingthrush on Cambodia’s tallest peak. This arduous expedition will take you to new heights to find your target species including Chestnut-headed Partridge and the Cambodian Flowerpecker among other montane species.

Join Sam Veasna Conservation Tours on this 4-day / 3-night expedition on the slopes of Cambodia’s tallest peak - the Aural Mountain. At its highest elevation of 1,813m, the slopes of this forest-covered mountain are key habitat for one of Cambodia's true endemic species, the Cambodian Laughingthrush.  This is as far off the beaten track as possible in Cambodia. You will be sleeping in hammocks in makeshift forest camps and eating simple food. You’ll have the chance to search for other key species such as Cambodia Blue Robin - Check the full list here.  Since this trip starts and finishes in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia - you can consider combining with a Cambodian Tailorbird Tour- which can be added at checkout. We can also accommodate transfers from other locations on request.

This tour is not for the faint of heart, however, if you are in good physical condition and you are up for the challenge, this is one of our most rewarding birding trips in Cambodia that you won't forget in a hurry.

As with all Sam Veasna Conservation Tours, By joining this experience, you directly contribute to community-based conservation efforts that protect endangered species, conserve critical habitats, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities.
